Just this past August Visalia's cutting-edge Waste WaterTreament Plant was upgraded. at $152 million, it's the biggest public works project our City has ever undertaken.

The League of Women Voters of Benton and Franklin Counties supports regional planning and implementation of river shore development to carry out the following objectives (in order of priority): 1) preservation of the unique natural quality of the area's river shore; 2) enhanced recreational and cultural activities; 3) contribution to the region's tax base.

League positions on Land Use were originally adopted in 1970, amended in 2017, and are reviewed annually.

The League supports the development of a countywide comprehensive plan that incorporates principles of sustainable growth and is consistent with existing land use plans of local governmental subdivisions.

We believe that the importation and use of Liquefied Natural Gas in the Long Beach area is a key component of a long range energy program which would stress use of the cleanest fossil fuel.
