Democratic government depends upon informed and active participation at all levels of government. Governmental bodies must protect the citizen’s right to know by giving adequate notice of proposed actions, holding open meetings, and making public records accessible.
The League advocates for issues but does not support or oppose any candidates for office. Every League Board of Directors at each level is required to have a non-partisan policy. Legislative Coffees are an opportunity to interact with your local legislators by asking them questions regarding current legislation. Legislators from districts 6, 11 and 15 have been invited to the Feb.
