We support measures to further good government through the support of non-partisanship in local government and the support of legislation which permits increased flexibility in California State law governing general law counties.

The LWV Los Alamos study on Digital Privacy began in June 2020. It's headed by JoAnn Lysne and Akkana Peck. It led to a new position:

LWVRI Position on Funding Public Education in Rhode Island

Adopted at Convention 2001

The League of Women Voters of Rhode Island believes that any method of financing public education should provide equality of opportunity for education through a system of taxation that is sufficient, equitable, flexible and coordinated among the different levels of government.

Support our position that the purpose of advisory commissions and boards in Park Forest and the Villages of Matteson, Richton Park, and University Park is to set goals and offer informed advice to the Village Boards of Trustees.

Monitor and evaluate the TIF (Tax Increment Financing) and its impact on education funding, economic development and distribution of tax dollars to the community.

Support the following criteria to evaluate home rule referenda: financial analysis, demonstration of need, education and information, and citizen participation.
