Annual John Lewis Day of Action: "Get in Good Trouble"

July 17: "Good Trouble Lives On" events nationwide will be held to honor Congressman John Lewis on the 5th anniversary of his death. See the local events below.

In a statement released Wednesday, LWVUS President Dianna Wynn announced, "We are proud to be a national partner for this year's John Lewis "Good Trouble" Day on July 17th. This day of national mobilization will honor the legacy of John Lewis and renew our commitment to strengthening voting rights and defending our democracy." We encourage members and allies to participate.

Indivisible Santa Maria: 6-7:30pm; candlelight vigil with speakers; Santa Maria City Hall (110 Cook St.)

  • Indivisible Lompoc: 5pm; Centennial Park (S H St. & E. Cypress Ave.)
  • Indivisible Santa Barbara: 7:30pm; Cabrillo Blvd. (at Stearns Wharf at the end of State St.)
  • Indivisible SYV (Santa Ynez Valley), 12-1:30pm; Vets Hall (Mission Drive, Solvang)
